These terms apply when you buy a film from GradFilm. Placing an order means you accept them. Read the Refund Policy and Privacy Policytoo — they're part of this agreement.
What we do
GradFilm edits 60–150 photos you upload into a chapter-structured short film with licensed music, scored and delivered as a 1080p MP4 within 24 hours of photo submission. The exact deliverable depends on the tier you bought (Essential, Tribute, or Legacy).
Your photos, your rights
- You keep all rights to the photos you upload. You grant GradFilm a limited, revocable license to use them solely to produce, render, and deliver your film.
- You represent that you have the right to use every photo you upload — either because you took them or because the photographer has granted you permission. You also confirm you have the right to include any identifiable people in the photos.
- You own the finished film. We keep a non-exclusive right to quote short clips in marketing only with your separate written permission.
Music
All soundtrack options are licensed through Artlist for commercial use within a delivered customer film. The license covers playing the film at private events, streaming it for family, and posting it on personal social accounts. It does not cover resale, broadcast TV, or use in another commercial product.
Delivery
- We deliver within 24 hours of receiving your photos, or the film is free — see the Refund Policy.
- Delivery is a download link to the MP4 and an in-portal preview.
- Tribute-tier orders include unlimited revisions for 7 days; Legacy-tier orders include priority revisions for 14 days.
What you can't do
- Upload photos you don't have permission to use.
- Upload content that's illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or invades someone's privacy. We'll cancel and refund any order that does.
- Resell or redistribute the underlying music or our rendered chapter cards and transitions as a standalone product.
Limitation of liability
GradFilm is delivered on a best-effort basis. Our maximum liability for any dispute is the amount you paid for the order. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (for example: if the film plays wrong at a graduation party, we'll re-render and refund, but we can't compensate for event disruption).
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we'll update the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes that affect pending orders will be emailed to the address on file.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which GradFilm operates. Disputes we can't work out by email go to small-claims court in that state.
